Kastel Stari is the oldest of seven small towns that belong to the city of Kastela.
At its very beginning settlement developed on fertile flatland suitable for the growing of grapes, fruit and olives. Later due to its splendid beaches Croatian aristocrats from Trogir started to build their residences and castles (Kastela) in the 15th century.
It is situated on the attractive coast between Trogir and Split. The beaches of picturesque Kastela Riviera stretches for four miles and consists of many bays and bathing places, covered by deep shade of pines and tamaris.
Kastel Stari is recommended for a family vacation, and the vicinity of Split, the tourist metropolis of Central Dalmatia, guarantees all kinds of fun and numerous places of culture and entertainment places where everyone can go in the evening.
Its so close to local airport of Split that it may not be necessary to drive here through Europe, just taking a flight by reach choice of cheap airlines offered in the summer season.
